Heerah has over 30 years experience in the Audio/Video industry, involved in all aspects of design, development, management, troubleshooting and deployment of a wide range of products. Over the last 20 years, Heerah ran an independent consultancy developing custom hardware solutions for clients such as Lucas Film, Canal+, Austrian Radio, Datmedia and Limt AB, among others. In 2002, Magnus Sorlander, CEO of Vigor Systems and Heerah began working together, developing several technical products for different verticals and managing the transition from NTSC to PAL for clients in the US, Korea and Dubai.

Heerah began his career with Audio Kinetics (UK) as an electronic technician and quickly advanced to the R&D department, designing hardware and programming for Motorola. He then spent over 5 years with AMS Industries (UK), where he was responsible for systems design, software development, management, performance testing, and even supporting sales efforts at exhibitions in the UK, US, and abroad. During Herrah’s career with AMS, the company received 3 successive Queen’s awards, the only other company to achieve this honor since Jaguar. AMS provided solutions for clients such as Abbey Road Studios, Paul McCartney, BBC and more.

As an R&D specialist at Vigor Systems, Heerah will be working on hardware development for the entire product line, including Advertio, MagnuBox, CS1510, D4400 and more. An Adaptable Approach to Operations and Client Service: Michael Durling Makes Sure Clients Get What They Want

LA JOLLA, CA, April 14, 2011 – Vigor Systems Inc., a worldwide leader and innovator of video technology, welcomes Michael Durling to their senior management team. Durling’s varied background includes a blend of both client relations and broadcast technology operations bringing a keen understanding of customer needs and how to systemize the delivery through an efficient workflow. Prior to joining the Vigor Systems team, he spent the last year working with Warner Bros., CBS and Ascent Media. As a Broadcast Television Distribution Specialist, he applied his extensive syndication and distribution background to resolve platform challenges and enhance the customer experience working with the PitchBlue and Javelin systems.

He also spent a few years as VP of U.S. Business Operations at Teletrax in Hollywood, CA. Durling oversaw all ongoing broadcast media client relationships and advanced media issues. The Teletrax client list includes such television shows as Oprah, Entertainment Tonight, Dr. Phil, Insider and Jeopardy, among others. Durling implemented custom broadcast verification solutions for the Oprah show promos, the technology of which is being used on many CBS show promos today.

Prior to that, he spent over 10 years at Disney-ABC Domestic TV evolving from Supervisor to Director of Syndication Distribution. Durling completed the migration from linear analog to digital store and forward satellite distribution for most syndicated content. At Disney, he also pioneered the delivery of movies over satellite using store and forward technologies and completed extensive management/leadership development programs.

As an Operational Manager at Vigor, Mike will be overseeing the Operational Support Center for PitchBlue and Javelin as well as facilitating online resources and training to help educate clients, stations and call centers on how to handle support related issues. As the in-house liaison between clients and the Vigor Systems team, he will also be facilitating advanced support requests and managing client relationships.

Technical support center for PitchBlue™ syndicated and Javelin™ short form content distribution transitions in-house to Vigor Systems

LA JOLLA, CA, March 11, 2011 – VIGOR Systems Inc., a leading video technology solutions provider, launched their Operational Support Center for PitchBlue™ and Javelin™ customers on February 1. The new technical support center for PitchBlue™ and Javelin™ is based in La Jolla, California offers 24/7 phone support and has 2nd line engineers available to perform remote support sessions from 7am to 7pm PST.

The Operational Support Center started handling PitchBlue™ and Javelin™ technical support issues January 1, followed by a 30-day transition period where the Operational Support Center was structured to handle large call volumes and direct traffic to the new points of contact.

The initial success has been widespread, with improved service response times and Vigor Systems Inc’s ability to troubleshoot more efficiently has closed the gap between end users and development.

LA JOLLA, CA, January 22, 2011 – VIGOR Systems Inc., innovators of PitchBlue™ and the MagnuBox™, distributed the anticipated version 2.6 to all MagnuBoxes on Jan. 22. The new release provides multiple time-saving and problem-solving tools to users.

New Features Include:

• Transcoding Queue – users can now see when a show is in the queue ready to be transcoded (can move programs throughout the queue based on priority, and ability to remove unneeded items from the queue)
• New interface with darkened control rooms to improve the viewing experience (reduces after image effects from going back and forth between light and dark screens)
• Redesigned recording schedule, which allows users to view the status of recordings and their format sheets
• Playback page, which shows what is currently queued for playback
• Timestamp during playback (to help alert users playing out to another device; they will now be able see if they’re nearing the end of a playback and then be able to shutoff recording device)
• Dancing Mailbox – message box which “dances” until a message has been opened, making it easier for distributors to communicate with stations

The 2.6 release is only compatible with Safari 4 or later, Chrome 3.0 or later, Firefox 3.6 or later and Internet Explorer 8 or later.

LA JOLLA, California (July 25, 2010) – Vigor Systems, a leading provider of video distribution solutions for technology providers and end-user groups, unveiled the 2.0 version of its cutting-edge PitchBlue™ content delivery system on July 24. The system delivers high quality high-definition (HDTV) and standard-definition (SDTV) programming to television stations. The key new feature of PitchBlue™ 2.0 is the ability to process short form content (advertising).

The development team at Vigor created an application programming interface (API) that allows third party vendors to securely interface directly with PitchBlue™ to upload short form content for use on the MagnuBox™. Advertising wholesalers are able to send ads into PitchBlue™, which are then distributed to a list of stations determined by the wholesaler. All of this transmission can be viewed/managed centrally through PitchBlue’s™ Formatic software.

PitchBlue’s™ hardware – the MagnuBox™ – has a new interface that works with the short form content, and also revealed a fresh, sophisticated look.

A few other added features to note:
•  Formatic now has a failsafe Format Sheet editing mode that gives users the ability to discard changes if desired.
•  Magnuboxes now have intelligent transcoding prioritization.

Development Team Expands with Three New Engineers at Vigor Systems, Inc.

LA JOLLA, Feb. 19, 2010 — With several large projects in development and deployment stages, the team at Vigor Systems continues to grow in multiple facets of the industry. Vigor welcomes Software Engineer Victor Marmolejo, System Engineer Sam Fulton and Senior Software Engineer John McCarthy. The team will assist in the ongoing development of PitchBlue™, a Syndication Distribution System created for Warner Bros., CBS and Ascent Media, among others.

Marmolejo brings 10 years experience working in UI design, system development and integration. He was the lead developer of a complex Financial Database Services software, a five year project from start to completion. Fulton, who comes from a background with Sony, will be responsible for managing system level testing at Vigor. At Sony, he worked as a contractor in software interpretation for VAIO laptops. Prior to that, Fulton worked at Nexus Point in Melbourne, Australia creating an online collaboration platform for the construction industry. McCarthy’s varied experience started in video game development, programming for Nintendo, Sega, Sony, Electronic Arts (EA), Atari and others.

With the newly expanded team, Vigor Systems will continue to offer the most comprehensive video products and solutions for technology providers and end-user groups.

Varied talents, valuable knowledge: Larry Fischer gives Vigor Systems a significant edge in conquering broadcast technology

LA JOLLA, Jan. 10, 2010 — Vigor Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of Larry Fischer to their esteemed staff. Fischer’s revered career path speaks for itself, including 30 years of broadcast industry experience and 15 of those working in the field of remote productions for major award shows and sporting events. Fischer held the role of chief engineer for Sun TV, Coast to Coast Video and VTE, where he designed and built video production and satellite trucks. He also spent 13 years at Warner Bros., where his primary role was facilitating operations at the WB Post Production Studio. He also redesigned and managed the Tape Duplication Facility at GDMX (Global Digital Media Xchange). He was eventually promoted to director of operations and engineering for the GDMX facility. Fischer was also a major force in transitioning Warner Bros. Syndication Distribution to an automated digital platform. He was responsible for designing and building two unmanned Satellite Earth Stations.

As a senior systems engineer at Vigor, Fischer will have several responsibilities, including working with clients and defining system requirements. As the resident satellite technology expert, he will be performing real world testing of systems. Fischer will also act as company spokesperson and represent Vigor on several national and international committees.

The Vigor Systems MagnuBox™, a transport stream recorder, has been shipped to over 750 broadcast stations. The MagnuBox™ is a cost-effective, optimized and streamlined platform that handles both HDTV and SDTV programming and uses more effective compression techniques while allowing more storage. The service footprint will include a guaranteed minimum of 1,300 stations, including the top 100 domestic markets.
